impromptu flower petals crown

My tutorial about how to make a sweet flower petals crown is over at Progressive Pioneer today. If you haven’t already found her beautiful blog, I highly recommend it – love her definition of what a progressive pioneer is here.

The day we made this the sun streamed in from the kitchen window and made the petals glow. Here are some photos from the day.

    This is absolutely beautiful.

I wonder if you know that with a layer of bondaweb (fusible film without the backing) on top of card or fabric and the flower petals on top you can cover with non stick parchment and iron to make a fairly robust product.

The flower colours are far better preserved this way compared to using regular pressed flowers:)

Thank you for all your sweet comments and for stopping by the blog!

Jane – your idea sounds wonderful! A month or so after we made the crown it is still fairly robust – the flowers have dried but very few have fallen or broken off (of course they were put on petal by petal by my industrious crown partner)… but your idea of using them on fabric sounds marvelous and would make a sturdier crown over time for sure.

    Definitely something to try! Thanks.
