I took some time today, in the midst of pumpkin carving and filling the front window to the brim with handmade decorations (paper and sweetly needle felted too) handed to me by the oldest of our littles…. to think of all of those who have truly had some long days of fright and terror, and whose trauma continues on. We put up paper decorations in our window today because they would have melted in the steady rain, but that’s not a patch on what so many people have lived through.
Gives a whole new meaning to “spooked”, I suppose.
Around here, I’m hoping the rain lets up to see the 12 layers of tulle and satin step out into the neighborhood. Otherwise they might be quickly replaced with a pulled-together pirate costume, or ladybug, or any number of “back-ups”, or so I’ve been told. Wherever you are in the world, here’s hoping you have a fun Halloween!
